National Compliment Day is Always January 24th

How nice of you to visit my blog! Since you found me, I can see that you must be the life of the party with your friends. You are so much fun to be with! I love the way you......
January 24th is Compliment Day! Every day is a good day to give a compliment but today provides a special opportunity to say something positive about the people you come into contact with. Everyone has good attributes. ...that's right....... everyone.
It’s great to have a day which reminds us how important and easy it is to pay a compliment. Compliment Day was created in 1998 by Kathy Chamberlin, of Hopkinton, NH. and Debby Hoffman, of Concord, NH. Mr. Webster defines a compliment as “gracious words, given freely, which create happiness for both the giver and the receiver.”
Compliments come in all different forms. There are physical compliments and emotional ones. The physical kind points to what we see in other people and the emotional kind stems from positive feedback given on what we feel about another person. So what type of compliments do you like to receive?  Which type of compliments do you tend to give?  Compliments are all about timing. They usually mean the most immediately after someone does something they deserve praise for. Also timing involves reading someone’s mood.  If you see someone’s in a slump, a well-placed compliment might motivate and remind them of what great qualities they have. Find something nice to say.

Tell someone they have a nice smile, even if you don’t know them.
Let a friend or family member how much they mean to you.
Compliment a co-worker for a job well done.
Let someone know they inspired you.
Compliment someone on an article of clothing and how great they look.
Acknowledge a creative, clever idea.
When you come across someone in a customer service position that does a great job, don’t just let them know-let their supervisor know.  One of the best compliments you can give someone is to let them know they do their job well!
Celebrated today by offering sincere compliments to people you know. Just think how great you will feel and you might just make someone’s day!
How many compliments should you give out today? The common suggestion is five compliments. And yes, it would be nice if they were to five different people. How many compliments can you give today?
